Quanser software (e.g., QUARC, RCP) provides an external interface for interfacing with hardware. This interface is called the Hardware-in-the-Loop API (HIL) and facilitates input from and output to data acquisition cards. All the data acquisition cards supported by the HIL blocks in Simulink are also supported by the HIL API in C because the two environments share the same API internally.
