QUARC 2023 SP2

These release notes describe the new features and changes introduced in QUARC 2023 SP2. They are divided into the sections enumerated below.

New Software Compatibility

QUARC 2023 SP2 has introduced compatibility with the following third-party software.

MATLAB R2023b

Compatibility with MATLAB, Simulink, and Simulink Coder R2023b has been added.

New Features

The new features introduced in QUARC 2023 SP2 are mentioned below.

Host Disk block

The Host Disk block now has support for specifying the filename as an external input port. This addition makes it easier to parameterize models using model arguments.

LCD Display block

Added support for the Sharp LS027B7DH01 display to the LCD Display block. Both images and text are supported.

New Devices Supported

QUARC 2023 SP2 may now interface to the devices listed below.

KUKA LBR iiwa

The KUKA lightweight cobots, LBR iiwa 7 and LBR iiwa 14, are now supported using the KUKA Sunrise.FRI (Fast Robot Interface) extension, version 1.16. The KUKA LBR FRI Timebase block provides support for the joint position, joint torque and wrench control modes, with a 1-ms update period.

The KUKA Robotics blocks may be found under the QUARC Targets/Devices/Third-Party/KUKA/Robots library.

Improved Features

Some of the features improved in QUARC 2023 SP2 are enumerated below. There are a great many miscellaneous improvements that have not been listed. Only some of the highlights are listed below.

Image Processing

Optimized raw Y10 image conversions for ARM64 targets (used with OV9281 camera for instance).

Bug Fixes

Some of the bug fixes in QUARC 2023 SP2 are enumerated below. This list is not complete. Only some of the highlights are listed below.

qc_perform_substitutions

Fixed a bug in qc_perform_substitutions in which it did not handle colons in double-quoted paths correctly. This bug affected some of the QUARC blocks which allow format specifiers in filenames.

QDrone 2 HIL driver

Fixed a bug in the QDrone 2 HIL driver which affected the setting of the PWM mode for some channels.
