The Intermediate Communication VIs are lower level VIs than the Basic Communication VIs. They consist of a set of VIs that allow users more control over the communications, since the read and write operations are separate VIs. This paradigm allows multiple data packets of differing sizes to be transmitted conditionally over the underlying communication channel.
