The Communications VIs and Functions provide a protocol-independent framework for communications. Rather than have VIs specific to each protocol, the RCP Toolkit communications framework supplies an single framework to handle all supported communications protocols. Furthermore, these VIs and Functions do not add any headers or other data on top of the underlying protocol so that the framework may be used to communicate with third-party applications and devices.
