RCP Data Acquisition Card Support
RCP gives you the ability to interface to virtually any device with the use of data acquisition cards.
This page shows what HIL functions are available for each of the data acquisition drivers included in RCP. For drivers where no mixed read or write functions are listed, then those functions cannot be used and the more specific functions, such as read analog or write digital, must be used instead.
When accessing multiple channel types, it is more efficient to use a single generic read or write function to read or write all the desired channels, rather than multiple instances of the more specific functions, such as read analog or write analog.
If only one type of channel is being accessed then the more specific functions are more efficient. Basically, the fewer VIs that are used to perform I/O, the better. For the same number of VIs, the more specific functions are generally more efficient.
