QUARC 2019 SP1
These release notes describe the new features and changes introduced in QUARC 2019 SP1. They are divided into the sections enumerated below.
New Software Compatibility
QUARC 2019 SP1 has introduced compatibility with the following third-party software.
Compatibility with MATLAB, Simulink, and Simulink Coder R2019b has been added.
Compatibility with Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 Professional and Community Editions has been added.
New Cards Supported
The full list of all the data acquisition cards supported by QUARC 2019 SP1 is given by the following link. QUARC 2019 SP1 may now also interface to the cards listed below.
Added support for the NI USB-6210 card.
Added support for the Quanser QUBE-SERVO-myRIO card.
New Blocks
New blocks have been added to the QUARC Targets library in QUARC 2019 SP1. The new blocks are listed below.
Data Acquisition Blocks
The HIL Simulation block allows a HIL board to be simulated using a QUARC model.
Improved Features
Some of the features improved in QUARC 2019 SP1 are enumerated below. There are a great many miscellaneous improvements that have not been listed. Only some of the highlights are listed below.
The Game Controller block now supports more targets, including the Raspberry Pi targets.
The XY Figure block now has the option of plotting its X and Y inputs as points on a single curve (frame-based mode) or as N curves over time (time-based mode). In framed-based mode, it also supports variable-size signals.
The Video3D Capture block now supports gyroscope and accelerometer streams on RealSense 2 platforms.
The Windows drivers for the Q2-USB and Q8-USB have been updated to provide better performance in fast mode, i.e., high sampling rate.
Force Dimension blocks now support Force Dimension SDK version 3.7.3.
Blocks that support navigation to associated blocks (e.g., HIL, Host) can now navigate to blocks that are commented out.
Support for the BGR888 image format has been added to the Image Convert block. The BGR888 format is the standard OpenCV format. So addition of this image format allows conversions between the OpenCV and MATLAB image formats.
Bug Fixes
Some of the bug fixes in QUARC 2019 SP1 are enumerated below. This list is not complete. Only some of the highlights are listed below.
Fixed bug where the real-time executable generated for QUARC Linux DuoVero 2016 Target would not run.
Fixed bug where the 32-bit Windows Target installer did not run properly.
Fixed bug where the Tip of the day window would cause an error if the "Show tip next time MATLAB starts" option was unchecked.
Fixed bug where in certain configurations, the real-time code for the Quanser QUBE-Servo 2 or AERO might crash upon start up.
In the channel selection dialogs, fixed a bug where the channel selection via image option would not show the image.
Fixed bug for Force Dimension blocks where using Force Dimension SDK 3.7.3 would cause the real-time code to crash.
Fixed bug in TCP/IP driver where the number of retries was not set correctly when specified in the URI "retries" option.
Fixed bug where the NI ELVIS III board information could not be retrieved if LabVIEW 2019 was installed on the ELVIS III target.
Fixed bug where qc_is_model_loaded would crash when invalid arguments were passed.
Fixed bug where incompatible real-time code could be downloaded to target systems.
Fixed bug where the Host Hearbeat block dialog window could not be closed by the close window button.
Fixed bug in which the hil_task_read did not always return the correct values for samples other than the first one when the num_samples argument was greater than one.
Fixed a memory leak that could occur when using non-blocking I/O, such as the Intermediate Stream blocks.
Fixed bug where the dialog to select analog input and output for the myRIO 1900 was not showing the correct number of IO.
Fixed bug where the final output values when using the myRIO 1900 card is not being honoured.
