QUARC 2024 SP1
These release notes describe the new features and changes introduced in QUARC 2024 SP1. They are divided into the sections enumerated below.
New Software Compatibility
QUARC 2024 SP1 has introduced compatibility with the following third-party software.
Compatibility with MATLAB, Simulink, and Simulink Coder R2024b has been added.
New Targets
QUARC 2024 SP1 now supports the following new targets.
The QUARC Linux QCar 2 Target supports one of the newest Quanser embedded Linux targets. Refer to QUARC Linux QCar 2 Target for details.
New Cards Supported
The full list of all the data acquisition cards supported by QUARC 2024 SP1 is given by the following link. QUARC 2024 SP1 may now also interface to the cards listed below.
New Blocks
New blocks have been added to the QUARC Targets library in QUARC 2024 SP1. The new blocks are listed below.
Devices Blocks
The VRPN Client block allows getting devices information from a VRPN Server.
Discontinuities Blocks
The Synchronize block synchronizes two signals based on timestamps.
Sinks Blocks
The File Write block writes the time and input, or video to a specified file on the target machine.
Improved Features
Some of the features improved in QUARC 2024 SP1 are enumerated below. There are a great many miscellaneous improvements that have not been listed. Only some of the highlights are listed below.
The File Read block now supports the File name parameter to be specified as input port.
A new Contours algorithm was added to the Image Transform block which highlights subtle changes in depth. It is intended for use with depth images and produces contours similar to the contours on a topographic map.
Improvements have been made to the stability of the QUARC Target Manager, which should result in better connectivity to remote targets in a changing WiFi environment. These improvements will only be seen if the QUARC Runtime on the target is updated.
The Qube-Servo 3 board has updated default board specific options values for deadband_compensation, min_diode_compensation, and max_diode_compensation to better linearize the dynamic response of the device.
The Fixed-size interpolated output Output mode in Ranging Sensor block is now supported for the Leishen Lidars.
The To Host File block now supports the File name parameter to be specified as input port.
Miscellaneous
The following shows the miscellaneous changes in QUARC 2024 SP1.
Python API
A new get_depth_scale method is added to the Video3DStream object, which gets the scale factor from the depth stream, in metres.
Installed Software for select products
A new Software section has been added to the help page of select Quanser devices (e.g. QCar, QBot Platform, QDrone 2, QCar 2) that provides a list of relevant software that have been installed on them.
Deprecated Features
Some of the previous QUARC features have been deprecated in QUARC 2024 SP1, as mentioned below. Many of the deprecated features may continue to work, but are no longer supported and should be avoided. |
Compilers No Longer Supported
Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 is no longer supported.
Bug Fixes
Some of the bug fixes in QUARC 2024 SP1 are enumerated below. This list is not complete. Only some of the highlights are listed below.
Fixed a bug in the File Read block in which a MAT-v5 or above file would crash the real-time executable.
Fixed a bug in the Model Argument block in which variable-size otuput would not reset the dimensions mode when non-char output is selected after it was variable-size.
Fixed a bug in the Image Transform block's Resize algorithm in normal simulation mode would cause MATLAB/Simulink to crash.
